    Thumbs up .357 Magnum Data

Would appreciate some info regarding a 0.357 Magnum load in a Marlin U/L carbine.
158 grain Cu washed FP bullet. 14.0 grains Alliant powder. Norma case & Winchester SP primer.
Can anyone with Quick Load or a similar programme give me the projected Muzzle Velocity & Muzzle Energy please.
Want to use it in an indoor range which has limitations.

    Many Thanks for any help

    .357

Why would you want to run at full power in an indoor range with limitations is beyond me most people use light target loads indoors like 3.6 grains of GM3 espically if it's 25 yards

Which Alliant powder? Do you have no loading data for it?

When you have figured that out, take a look on their website.

    0.357 Load

I do NOT want to run at full power in an indoor range. I found a tub of Alliant 2400 in the cupboard LOOKED UP a load on the Alliant website & reduced it considerably to try & bring it well within the range requirements. It was not an ill thought out "Oh lets do it".

I have received a constructive reply which indicates it is outside the range limits. Obviously I will now use it for outdoor shooting at 100 yards.

    Thank you for your replies.

I found 3.6 guns of GM3 worked well in my Marlin with a 158 grn truncated lead bullet. Tim

    Stop!!!

    I would not load 14.0 grains of Alliant 2400 in a .357 Mag!!! :O
You will end up eating white hot metal!

A quick rough and ready calculation shows over 58,000 PSI!!!

    Stay safe.
