    Ah yes, the implausible 'grooves in the piston face' which were supposed to channel air more efficiently into the transfer port which would somehow make up for the lost volume they cause. Because you know, if you compress air, sometimes it moves away from areas of low pressure to those of high pressure. It's funny like that.
