Webley & Scott Eclipse

A'noon all. Just acquired the aforementioned in .177 flavour, believe it's a Mk1 from the little I've found during a google session. Does it belong in here as I'm trying to find out a bit more about them and a valuation of possible????

That's a Mk1 (1988-92). The Mk2 (1992-1999) had a different barrel catch.

The flip-up breech is a copy of one from the Walther LGR target rifle. It is safe, but slow to use, and not very efficient.

The main tube is made of alloy. Keeps the weight down, but can cause problems with steel scope mounts.

Trigger parts are shared with the Omega and Patriot.

I haven't looked at all your pics (I hate photophukit), but I guess that a decent one should go in a private sale for something in the £140-180 region.

Thanks for that info. I hate photophukit too but got no other way to host pix atm, something I need to look into really.

This one's never had a scope fitted from the looks of it as not a mark at all on the scope rail so main tube should be a1.

I agree with Mr Geezer. I sold a very nice condition MK1 (early three figure serial number), for £180 I think it was.

i sold an immaculate mk2 carbine to a good freind for £160 about 5 years ago but I do think with webleys demise that good unmolested examples will be sought after by collectors in a few years time & the prices will go up considerably of these rifles. They cerainly shoot a hell of a lot better than any old mk3 i've ever shot too!

imgur is much better than the bucket, quick to load. I like the Eclipse mainly because of weight reduction.

I still have my Webley Eclipse MKII Carbine in .22, complete with original sights (Golden Antler 3-9x40) and silencer. Sadly I have managed to lose the original box and owners manual in one of my moves over the years, as the rifle has always been kept safe and clean in a nice gunslip.

I've had it from new and it's only fired between 500-1000 pellets in total, as I still have 8 unopened tins of the original Webley Special Waisted pellets (which are fairly rare in their own right) which I purchased at the same time as the rifle!

I found it to be a comfortable rifle and very accurate to fire. I'm sure you will be happy with yours too.
