    Hw55

Hi I have just bought an HW 55 in need of restoration. 55....... series number
    The blueing isn't too bad
    The barrel locks up well
The stock has been attacked with course sand paper at some time so a bit poor

Would it be best to restore to as original or try to get it up to nearer the 12 FPE to allow me to use it in non 10m competitions?

    Many thanks Steve

Very difficult to bring the power up that high because it has low swept volume. Even bringing the power up to 8 or so ft/pds makes it harsh. It was designed as a 10m target rifle and for that purpose it is excellent. Probably best keep it original.

    Hw55.

My venom 55 runs at 10.4 and it's not harsh to shoot. You will be hard to push much more out of one. Mach 1.5

I should have added "unless it's a Venom".
