What scope / mag for 20m Target shooting?

I have a several rifles and several scopes and am now wanting to match them all up for the job they will do.

What size and mag scope would you use on a rifle for 20m paper target shooting?

The scopes i have that aren't already fitted to rifles are as follows:
    6-25x50
    6-18x50
    4-12x40

    All are AO and IR.

hi my choice would be the 6-18x50 as long as it dose not make your setup over weight

benchrest or free standing ? For bench, either of the larger two; for free standing 12mag should be plenty and the 40mm objective might help with rifle fitment / eye alignment
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

higher mag gives better crosshair positioning, but at 20m even 12 mag should be fine, although I would be inclined to go 25x for the versatility.

    Hi Guys
Mainly this will be 20m free standing. There will be some bench rest and at further distances. But mostly 20m freestanding.

The 6-18x50 is a Hawke Panorama
The 4-12x40 is a Hawke Panorama
The 6-24x50 is a Hawke Vantage

I'm not keen on using the Vantage for target shooting as the cross hairs are much thicker than the Panorama's (they are super).

I shoot 20 yard standing with a Simmons non-AO scope set on 10x mag which is the maximum it will go to.

    Works well enough for me.

If you are talking about bench rest then I would not look at anything below 24x mag and be very fussy about the ret.

    Cheers

I will fit the Panorama 6-18x50 to the target rifle.

The 6-24x50 Vantage to the hunting rifle.

Save the 4-12x40 Panorama for my next springer.....
