    How to remove piston seal?

    Hi all.
I've decided to overhaul/restore my old Relum telly. Stripped it down last night & the seal is in a pretty poor way. As it's riveted on what's the correct method to remove it, drill off the rivet head?
I assume the new seal kit will come with a replacement rivet?
Was planning on removing any sharp edges on the slots etc & polishing the piston before re-assembling with new springs, seals etc. Is there anything else I should be doing while it's in bits?
    Thanks.
    Neil.

    Hi Neil,

Think the seal is riveted on, look at this thread-

    http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....ce-need-please

It seems that if you're deft with the removal of the rivet, then you should be able to reuse it. One of the smaller piston seals that are en-route to you might fit with some persuasion...

Has anyone else overhauled/tuned an old Relum break barrel with any tips which bits to sort out? This is my first home tuning attempt.

    How to remove piston seal?

Bin the concentric springs & fit an airsporter or meteor spring I forget which fits so you'll have to measure the i.d. of the piston.

    Hi Neil
How did the restoration go, I've got a meteor spring ready to go in mine once I get a spring guide sorted, thinking of trying a synthetic seal to.
