here is a "how to" link but the pictures seem to have been removed
I presumed the little seal joining the cylinder to the action was at fault so replaced it. Actually it is the cylinder itself.
Is it difficult to repair this? Presumably it comes apart. Do I have to dry fire to empty?
Any help gratefully appreciated ...

Did this last year, place 6'' softwood strips in engineers vice, from centre to near outlet end, grip really tightly,
keep cylinder horizontal.
Use a 36 mm hex socket over outlet end having parcel taped it first to avoid marks.
Straightforward on empty tube - first use the HW vent tool (or a suitable pin punch)
to ensure all air exhausted before starting job.
