i got a bit pissed the night before. still smile at the sergeants question to me. why has your target got no holes in it but his has five bulls and five magpies. turned out mine were proved as bulls, in the wrong target.

dont know if this poor shooting. we were on the range one day and tried to re-quess when the pointer would go down and the target would come up. i got it wrong. i broke the pointer.
the lump of wood, not the poor sod holding it. (in them thar days the pointer was a lump of wood with a triangle on it, the bloke holding it was also called a pointer)

I remember our pointers were quite sturdy round discs and if stood upright half of the disc could just be seen from the firing point. HIT THIS DISC AND THE WHOLE STICK WENT WHANGING ROUND THE BUTTS. Those were the days..

This is absolutely true; heard at an HFT shoot from the couple shooting at the peg next to ours. The person was having a very bad day with an EV2. After a run of plates the utterance came 'I wouldn't be missing these if I had my hunting gun ....'.

Try: my springer is getting low on air.

    Cheers, Phil
