    I know that feeling, Pete.

Once or twice in the past I have managed to get to The Hollow on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday and meet the early arrivees.

But, to get my book stamped, this often means that 'er indoors visits Ikea at J26 of the M1 as part of the trip. And sometimes takes my card!

Or we visit the step-daughter and grand gits at Burton, which usually entails me getting shafted on the way home for a McCrapper's for 6.

Still worth every penny for Boingering fun at The Hollow, though.

Up we go for a Sunday BOING

I've been BOINGING with my recently acquired .177 HW45 and I can see now what other mean about the characteristic whiff and mild smokeyness of dieseling that accompanies the firing cycle.
I do like the fibre optic sights, and hefty feel of the gun; the weight seems to negate the effects of the recoil / spring surge action
Accuracy seems quite reasonable using H&N Econ Wadcutters, and the spinners are most definitely getting a good workout

I will be bringing it to the next Bash for a long range plink

My .177 HW45 shoots and smokes like its on 40 a day too but I kinda like it like that and yeah those fibre optics are pretty good. I just don't use mine enough, I must make it a habit to bring it to my range with me as a good pistol plink in between the rifle plinking just adds to the enjoyment.

    I love my '45.

But haven't used it in ages!

Love the trigger, the accuracy, the feel, the character, the smoke, oh yeah, the smoke.....love it.

Must get it out for a play sometime very soon.

Shall we bring 'em all to The Bash?

Brought mine in April Tone, plan was to give it to Tinners for a bit of 'calming down' but never got round to giving it to him so, will bring it again in June all being well. Maybe we can have a bit of a 45 fun comp

So, anyone with a HW45 - get in there! We can have a bit of 'you show me yours and I'll show you mine' and have a bit of a fun shoot out - chasing a can or something would work I reckon

As long as Uncle Mick's okay with it, Pauly (sure he will be), that'll be a great "side shoot".

And I can bring loads of cans. You wanna see how this bloody lot here can gulp their way through manky sugary drinks!!

No shortage of empty cans at The Hollow Tone. By Saturday there's enough recycleable aluminium to build a Boeing 747. I'm thinking just one can, a shot each, if you miss you stand down and last man standing is the Winner and gets to stay in Bongos tent for the night. Mmmmm, I kinda get the feeling I'm not that good a shot all of a sudden

    I'll be safe then, PaulyBoy!

Also, in addition to "chasing" cans around the grass, maybe we could have some of them dangling off string? Some nice aerosols should be fun.

I reckon Mel said he'd be able to bring some more records, too. They were great fun last time and will be just as much fun with the little 'uns.

Another thought on the can mangling, Pauly.....

The little HW70 and 40 are far too precise and demure for this sort of brash behaviour, but my Ratty and PPK hardly ever get used. So I could bring them along for an outing. Also the 2240 which I mini-carbined years ago and wears a red dot....should be fun, but not strictly boingering!

Did you get the 2250XL back from your friend yet?

    OoO Aerosols sounds cool.

Yes mate, got the Ratcatcher back now and I reckon it's gonna be a keeper! He also 'gave me back' the Stoeger X20 Supressor that I bought at an extremely good price from 'Our Moley' which I am hopefully gonna sell on for him to a young lad at my range for next to nothing just to get him going. The lad turned up last week with a Bear Grylls thingy which we chrono'd at 0.5 fpe
and was smoking like buggery. Always nice to get a young 'un hooked if we can. Which reminds me..... how is that lovely daughter of yours doing on the shooting front? Has she managed to be an advocate for you indoors?
