Hawke Sport HD 3-9x40 AO MIL DOT IR

Have owned this scope from new, (5 or 6 years) and it's had very little use.

My question is, the AO focus is very stiff to turn, anyone know how to slacken it off please. Have tried a squirt of WD40 but no change.

    Thanks.

Hmmm ... I do not know the answer but something tells me that WD40 was not the best stuff to use as I believe it can attack O rings and I suspect there will be an O ring seal in the scope.
I hope I am wrong .. and await further comments.
    Cheers, Phil

Use one of those large " cable tie" thingies that the FT guys use to give you a better and more precise leverage on the AO ring. Other than that it is a case of dismantling the scope and using a slightly less viscous optical grease around the parts.
