Advice on adjusting scope on air rifle

I recently bought a Walther Century in 177 and am pleased with it.

I got a new scope and fitted, but even on full adjustment it prints 2 inches high at 50 feet.

Unfortunately I can't switch the mounts around as one has a stop fitted.

I appreciate it's not a top end scope, but any advice you can give would be welcome.

    This is the scope :-)

You might want to consider a change in scope mounts. I'm not sure what mounts you have but that would require a lot of shimming. The barrel lock up on the Century shouldn't mean there'll be an issue with breech lock up. It might be your barrel isn't straight (pointing upwards from the line of the cylinder - try it against a straight edge). Ideally you want the cross hairs to be roughly in the middle of their adjustment when zero'd.

Isn't the arrestor stop a removable grub screw on the mountmaster, hidden under the felt or whatever it is they use to stop the mounts scratching the scope? Could have sworn it was on my 6x40.
Could wind it in or remove it and switch the mounts around, see if it makes any difference?

Could also shim the rear mount with camera film; was always good enough for the 35.

some mounts have steel roll pins in them in place of a pointed grub screw. you just knock the roll pin back into the mount from the bottom.

Thank you all for your much valued advice.

I think, initially, I will switch mounts front to back to see if the point of impact changes. I suspect the adjustment is too far out to shim the mount.

If all else fails, then adjustable mounts will be fitted, thank you again.

Its firing high. Shimming the rear mount will make it fire even higher
