Not sure if this will work out for you but my 177 airsporter s hates all pellets except for JSBs 4.53. 4.52 & 4.51 shoot almost 100fps less as they drop to the bottom of the tap.

I bought the above "light" model a while ago at a local auction and am pleased with it. At 20 yards it shoots high even with the rear sight wound right down, but I can compensate for that by aiming off. However, I'm using JSB Exacts (.177) and have recollections that these older BSA barrels like a pellet with a slightly larger diameter. Is there a modern, currently-available pellet which is likely to perform better than the JSB?
The same question is also of relevance to CS2839x
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks!

Its .22 where modern pellets differ from old ammo.
My .177 Lights prefer flatheads, usually Gecos.
... I will try some Gecos (I have some Hobbies) but otherwise will stick with the JSBs (although these also drop to the bottom of the tap!). Hadn't realised that it was the .22s which were most affected by pellet choice.
Cheers.
Superdomes sit higher in the tap and seem to work well in mine. BSA Elite are also OK.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
I’m using Bisley Super Fields in my BSA imp with great success.

Thanks both for your suggestions. I shall give them all a try!
