I heard that BAM are farming their production out to Africa to keep costs down.

This gets bandied about on here a lot.

Apart from the spring in what way are they different?

Because from what I've seen a modern CNC'd HW is far better than anything I've seen with West Germany stamped on it.

My 2013 HW 50 (99 in the UK) does not fall short compared to my 1980 HW 35, so what do you see that I don't?

But it's worth pointing out that the Euro and EU financial system has so many inbuilt biases towards manufacturing in Germany, that it is not surprising that investment flows there.

The one size fits all interest rate in the Eurozone being the prime example.
Thats why I voted for Brexit mate, despite working for a German owned company and having respect for them. It doesnt mean I want to be controlled by them. Regarding the EU I fully agree with you, and when my Grandfather was hanging on to a life raft with burnt oil on his lungs in 1944, I'm pretty sure he did it to stop Britain being completely ruled by Germany, and that is the way things were going.

But what I was referring to earlier was not just about investing using EU money ( it does happen ), but he fact that German laws state that they have to re invest a large percentage of their 'profits' back into the company. Why don't we do that? Oh yeah I forgot, a lot of our companies have been bought by German, French and the USA to mention a few other manufacturing countries.

I have a HW35 from around 1980 and a modern HW35e. Apart from the black hole built into the older gun's breech plug the quality of both is comparable.

I wasn't having it at all,a brand new gun galling and twanging like a dried out old fairground boinger.
He also explained that all new 77's 80's 97's are all ''different now'' and there was a whisper (unlike their guns) that a retro fit de twanging kit was on the horizon.
Brand new HW's are s##t fact.

I assume they mean a difference in manufacturing quality not actual physical changes.
