    Venom 77k

Now re-built after Collin Molloy worked his magic, I did fit a vortek piston seal but it wasn't giving good shot to shot figures...in fact they were horrendus and varied by quite abit so decided to refit the old seal which is working a treat.

    That's a real beauty mate. .
I love the venom scope too. One of the scopes on my wish list for my venom lazaglide mach 1.

Very nice job, and I particularly like the stock.

The stock is very nice I must admit, although I'm a bit surprised with the vortek piston seal....I got good results using one in the annie 335 but in this 77 it was a nightmare.
Fps varied by as much as 100 fps , first test saw it way over the limit so I cut down the spring and left out the ptfe washer but it was still way over so cut the spring down a little more but was still a little over but the shot to shot was madness....one second it was 5-30 fps difference then it would leap up by as much as 100 fps
Putting the old washer back on the piston saw the fps come down to 755-760.

Sweet as a sweet thing. Very sweet.

But, I thought they blacked the compression tube, or was that only on Lazaglides?

Anyway, sweet. Like that. A lot.

Tis a thing of beauty. Always satisfying when you get it back together after a wait. Enjoy.

Hmmm....no idea then,I have seen the 77's with blacked/blued comp tube and they seemed to be the top of the range tuned rifles that had the glided piston, mine as stated on another thread by another bbs member just had the standard tune and hand made stock.
Did you buy your TX direct from venom or was it an after sales mod?.....could be that the rifles sold directly through Venom Arms had the comp tubes done as well in the lazaglide rifles.
Mine was sold by Hull Cartridge to Venom in may 87.....there is an under lever grip as well but although reblued with the rest I have left it off as I think it looks better without it.

    Venom 77

Not all venom's 77's / 97's have the comp tube blacked. It was an optional extra and so depending on your budget some are left as they are. Mach 1.5

    Venom 77K

It is like finding the grail cup; I now know what will compliment my Lazaglide 97K, though I suspect it may take a while, I would really like a Venom 77K. If anyone is thinking of parting with one, please let me know!

Thanks for clearing that up Mach, I see they also come with VM etched(?) onto the blacked out ones these days.
