The OP's rifle looks very nice, but to me, the 77K is too long with a slimtec unit fitted... compared to a 97K, which looks just right IMHO.

    Weebster,

I bought my Lazaglide TX200 direct from Webley Venom in July 2004.

IIRC, it used one of the last batch of Venom aluminium TX200 pistons that they made before the Webley Venom shop closed.

I remember at the time I had to wait a few months until the batch of TX200 pistons were made.

The total bill for the rifle was £415

Have fun & a good Bank Holiday weekend

    Best regards

    Russ

Is the 97 shorter then or just looks shorter?

Aye, I think I'm right in saying the '77K & '97K share the same length cocking lever, while the modern '97K's barrel is around 3" shorter than the '77K.

In factory trim, the actions are the same (or similar) length due to the '97K having a factory moderator/muzzle break.

Adding the Slimtech unit adds inches on to the '77K (which was already as long as a modern 97K).

You just have to compare how much metalwork there is beyond the end of the cocking lever.

Both my 77Ks have period 80s short moderators like the ones that later were standard on the 97K. And I like the shortness.

But I'll respectfully disagree with you. weebster's 77K with a long Slimtech or similar looks the dogs' thingies.

Ooo, very nice. Now see, that's a '97 style end catch unit isn't it.

Yes, but from before the 97 existed. They copied the tuners/aftermarket makers.

I'm guessing that yours is mostly a barrel sleeve, yet when HW did copy that style, they took the step of shortening the barrel a fair bit.

    Venom 77

Venom did the long catch silencer and the short catch silencer. The short being like the design HW use on the 97. The mamba is a nice rifle which came in a standard 77 stock or a full custom job...again depending on your budget. Mach 1.5
