    I have a 30 S in .22.

    They make a brilliant close range ratting / barn rifle.

    It easily has the calmest firing manners of any springer I've ever shot and is very forgiving when it comes to hold sensitivity. It's extremely accurate up to 25 yards with superdomes, after that it starts getting very loopy.

    I've put about 500 pellets through mine and no sign of galling so far.

    It's a little gun that's big fun.

    If he would up the kitty a bit more he could have the new 10 shot gamo springer that comes with a scope (which he would probably only be able to use at 3x given the close proximity of the quarry).

    have a look here. never had a problem with them. a tool for every job.
    the only thing i can find wrong is the nut on the steering wheel.

    I think he wants something that's accurate and has at least a little quality about it...
