Is there a seasonality to collecting?

Seems in the winter months I was seeing interesting vintage airguns posted almost daily on the sites I follow. With warmer weather there's seems to be a real lull? With more to do in the summer months do others notice less activity?

In a word yes, but our summers are short so you won't have to wait long for it to pick up again.

It also depends when people need money most. There's always quite a few sales before Christmas, which is obviously an expensive time. And a few after it, as people wake up with (financial) hangovers.

I generally buy after a row with the wife, i figure it's cheaper than a divorce.

I have had some good buys, and also made some less wise purchase decisions.
