    RAP M4 Paintball repairs

    Hi Guys

I have an M4 paintball rifle, which was of hear 2nd hand it has never fired a shot and hasnt worked since day one, have replace a few seals etc. but air runs through it or it just fires like its on auto, t had other issues but fixed these now.

I am having problems finding a paintball repairer that will fix it. Can anyone recommend a good company to do a repair on a RAP M4, was advise that Brocock might fix it, I ahve asked but they wont.

Would love to finally get round to using this with the kids this year, and recommendations of companies would be great.

    Thanks
    Paul

your best bet is probably going onto the UKPSF site / forum as i know a few gunsmiths (paintball ones) used to frequent it.

Thanks karandras, just checked it out but registration has been disabled ???? so I cant contact them or see the forum posts. It may be just a glitch or down for updates, I'll give it try in a day or two, but if its down for longer are there any like minded websites as I had done a google search on paintball and hadnt come up with that one before.

Thanks for the input so far. PM'd Nick so I will wait to here.

    RAP4 community

they may be able to help, just have a search around as it's not an 'oft visited forum

I have 4 of these guns, 2 RAP4's, a RAP5 and a RAP226 and have rebuilt them all as i bought them all busted. I have converted the rifles to 177 pellet firing and have my own bulk-fill C02 setup. They are not that complex when stripped down, and complete core diagrams are available from the RAP4 website - unless you have actually got the brocock BB conversion? In any event, whichever version you have it is a qian wei paintball gun

it sounds like your velocity and/or ROF valves aren't set up properly, there is a very good tutorial on youtube showing you how to access and adjust these valves but there is a "sweet spot" where both valves have to be lined up, you either need the RAP4 pressure gauge or do as i did and run them over a chrono - with a lot of patience!

Don't bother asking RAP4uk for advice, in my experience they are as much use as tit$ on a bull and drop-ship any spare parts you order from RAP4 in california, that's why they take so long to arrive as i'm certain RAP4 USA in turn order them from qian wei in china, i may be wrong but it shouldn't take 3+ weeks for a UK company to send me 5 urethane seals in a bag?

    hope this helps

I have advised the OP to buy a working one & sell the broken one as the easiest option, he knows precisely the maximum time the repair will take & so presumably knows exactly what work and parts are required and exactly how many times the gun will need stripping, reassembling and testing, leaving me confused as to why he's not repaired it himself

thanks spaspecker for the info I have sent the gun of to a paintball specialist company who are in the process of repair they seem to be very knowledgeable and very efficient in their work so here's hoping.

I do not like selling broken stuff as it always comes back to haunt you if the buyer says is not as expected or more was wrong with it than I know ie dangerous. I would rather fix it than sell off a potentially dangerous gun.

I also don't like giving up on a challenge and as I've never shot one of these paintball before I was interested as to the comparison to live weapons in their make up and realism in working parts.

I had only approximated the time to fix in my pm to you it could be a 10 min job or hours, an FX gun I can strip in 16 mins but my skan 32 had taken me hours, I appreciated your pm to me and I don't want the thread to go off subject but I think your message is off kilter and subject, if I know how to fix it or had the time to go through rap 4 website for hours then I would, and no I don't know what is causing the fault, but hopefully will soon and will have it back to its forma glory.

thanks everyone for their input, I'll post once I know the issue from the repairs company as to what they had to do to get it working, if anyone wants their link pm me as they are great at messaging and supporting the customer,a bit unusual these days for most companies.
