    Straightening Webley Junior barrel

Years ago I bought a Webley Junior (with Birmingham 4 address) it's not in great condition but does fire. The barrel has always had a slight upward bend in it towards the breach, looks like someone cocked it then pulled the trigger and the barrel snapped back.

Anyway I'd read that you can straighten a barrel using a vice, so I tried it and it works, I think the trick is the put the barrel very close to the vice screws so that the load is spread along the length of the barrel.

The diameter of the Junior barrel is not that big, so Not sure this would work on the other Webleys.

That pretty much works for full size 15mm 16mm air rifle barrels too. They're just mild steel. The trick is to work out exactly where to bend, use a bit of pipe as an extender, & then take it easy, very easy.
My wife's Mercury got a bent barrel from just falling over, so it works both ways.
