Playing in the garden with the gun (testing for tomorrow) when suddenly it wouldnt cock, HW100. striped it down to discover a tiny broken spring in the trigger housing , with post about a tenner for a new one. Rant over.

    That sucks!

I had a similar thing in a completely different situation.

My 1999 VW Passat was booked in for its MOT Monday morning and I'm out Saturday night and I ran over a piece of plastic, thought nothing of it. When I get home I walk round the front of the car and realised my front indicator lens had just fallen off!

Hi, back in the days when there were 'sealed beam headlamps' ,basically the whole headlamp was a Big bulb, took the car for MOT," Headlamps " said the tester, headlamps on. Fine -- PLINK -- Fug it the filament blew.
Tester apologied but said he had to fail it.
Oh well, close but no cigar.
    Cheers.
    Geoff.

Say what is true, although it may be bitter and displeasing to people.

Try your local garage or car parts store; most of these will hold boxes of springs, O rings; nuts and bolts and you can usually find something to do the job and they usually only want a couple of bob ( showing my age here!!)

Be grateful you can get spares, even if they do seem a bit pricey. Try ordering spares for a Walther PCP!
