    An expensive BSA Standard?

I attended a military show today, Cressington Temple Barns near Braintree. It was a medium size show with relatively few traders but there was one person selling a few de-acts and a couple of air rifles.
First up, a BSA Ladies pattern. Fair condition on the outside; I did not/could not judge the inside nor see the serial number: £495. Crikey.
Second up a Standard from 1906, Ser. No 3369. Looked resonable from the outside but with an oily finish ...£595. Crikey again.

There was also an air rifle / pistol 'have a go' stall using Harrington Gats ... pistols and rifles firing corks, about 4 of each type. Very nice to see this in operation although the young chap operating the stall said that although he had had the stall for many years, once the rifles are 'gone' they are gone. Apparently the frame is liable to break and with no spares being available it becomes a rubbish bin item. Sad really.

    Cheers, Phil
