    Weird Webley Seniors

Got two Seniors in to repair, serial numbers S16206 and S16160. They both have the vertically sliding sear which seems to have been a poor idea as both are broken. No-one seems to stock these sears ? Will have to make them. Also they have metal piston rings for seals, which seem to be made from phosphor-bronze. Do the Webley experts know anything about these variations ?

Nibbs sells the sears and I guess the phosphor bronze rings.

As Far as I know all the Seniors had the Phosphor Bronze ring, although I have heard of people changing to an O ring or even getting the head of the piston machined off and fitting a leather washer.
I believe that there are 2 slightly different sears, with one having a more square hole for the trigger to go through. There are 2 types of trigger, but I have not seen the earlier one, that John Milewski says is the better trigger.

Thanks Guy, interesting I see the contact surface for the sear is offset from central on the Knibbs replacement as per mine. Thought these had been machined incorrectly. Price is a bit heavy, but ho-hum too busy to make them. Shows you the sheltered life I lead, haven't had the piston rings before, always been the terrible plastic seal.
