I thought the price that was suggested a while ago of £400+ was rather dear, but this new price of £619 really is too much.

In in saying that, I did fork out more than that for my Steyr LP10, so I suppose some people will buy the HW44 at that price if they really want one

Why would you expect a multi shot pcp pistol to be cheap?
Rifles arent and a pistol just doesnt have the stock

In addition HW have spotted a gap in the market with multi shot pcp.
I think Brocock stopped making theirs some time ago.
And that was pushing £400 new as I recall.

Perhaps that should tell you something...

£620 for a pistol which can only be used for plinking or pistol HFT (which is not an incredibly common discipline) seems wishful thinking to me. I can't see them shifting in great numbers.

Maybe it tells me Brocock should have charged more to make a decent profit and keep making them.

The HW has several features that the Brocock didnt to add to the cost eg 10 shot and gauge.

In any event moaning about cost is a bit pointless/
It is what it is as we say in Dorset.

I'm not moaning about the cost - I'm saying that I don't think they will sell many, the same way Brocock didn't sell enough of theirs to justify continued production.
I tend to think in this case that an increase in price would mean a reduction in sales and probably less profit overall.

The thread is about the cost.

But in my view it wont sell as pig ugly.
Then again I need to see one to properly judge.

    Its just personal opinions....
In my case a true target pistol to compete at high levels requires big outlay....but the niche for this gun is surely plinking .....possibly very short range ratting....maybe a field target side shoot event for pistols which occur on occasions but 600 quid ?
We can do these jobs famously with a 150 quid pp 700 or a tweaked HW75/45 for 250 odd

If its RRP is £450-500 where would it position itself? It's not a 10m match pistol and that would be a lot of cash for a tin shredder. If it's £550 with a shoulder stock, again it's a lot of cash for a sub-6ft/lb 20M ratter.

It looks great and I'm sure it will be accurate and consistent etc. but what is the reason for it being if it's going to cost a wedge? Pistol HFT is hardly booming (existing?) and you'd have to get a single shot adaptor for it.

    Is it just a nice-to-have?
My comments from back in March. It transpires that the RRP is much higher than my estimate back then, hence my disgust. I simply cannot wish HW well with this new product.

Plus according to Lloyd at BAR, they will not apparently make much profit on it at this price either.

i beleive the thing to be a huge error.....what every pistol enthusiast was waiting for is something more like a HW75 2 stroker version of the Alecto.....everyone hates all the plastic on the Alecto so HW had already done half the job..
With a modified valve my club fellows would have purchased 2 each at the 300 quid it currently runs at...
Id of bought one for fun without thinking twice.

The thing is uglyness sells, or Citreon wouldn't sell cars
Shooting Air Rifles is like being a pubic hair on a toilet seat.
Eventually someone comes a long and P's you off.
    They usually have a PCP
