    88g CO2 cylinders

Are they of use to anyone other than being recycled?

    Simple as that.

I have no use for them. Are they Aluminium like the 12g or plastic as they look?

No, these are steel, about 7-8inches long. Just a shame to bin them.

I used to put them in the scrap metal bin at work. its seems a waste but they are a one fill deal unless you bulk fill and have a valve fitting to put on then into the rifle.

is there not form of valve at the threaded end ? Or is it just a piercing point like the 12gs ?
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

exactly as the 12gs ones John. there is a piercing spike in the connection of the rifle, so its on until empty unless you have a valve system fitted.

Can't find it now. there was one that you could put a fire extinguisher on and fill the 88grm bottle from it.

    Shame..

you'd think that with that much steel in use, it'd be worth fitting a basic valve so it could be refilled

there is a few videos of people fitting Schrader type valves to the 12grm and 88grm . it could be dangerous .

pity there was no way of fitting a best fittings type one way valve to the rifle for bulk fill like a PCP.

wonder if you could have a valved external adapter... adapter has a small valve that the peircing pin would open to one side (threaded as per the cyclinder), and on the other a femail thread to take the peirced 88g cylinder. Then again some idiot would try to put 200 BAR HPA in in and blow everything up

I did see one where you filled it as I said above. Can't find the pic now .i saw it around 2007.

    filled like this http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i8...2293Medium.jpg

but a 88grm one with a on off valve on top. something like the brass one on this site http://www.the850store.com/kits.htm in the CO2 section.

I have seen 88grm bottles tapped and fitted with gauges too

We normally hang them up on steel pike trace wires and use them as targets when they get to battered you just hang another one up great for pistol practice or rifle at 30yards
