Thank you Hawkies.
Much more difficult than it looked! Good course with much head scratching.
And go Wes!!!
Hi All
Huge thank yous to Phil and the whole of the Horsham Hawks team responsible for setting today’s course and putting on a great breakfast and lunch feast for us.
A very different day weather wise – again – with almost unbroken sun (except where it was dark in them there woods) and very little breeze (barely a Simmmo style “edge of kill” even in the field).
The Hawkes made up for this by placing a pair of quite vicious positionals – the free kneeler and free stander – all on their own in the field, but lofted on monsterous poles. If I can find the time, I will be tempted to go through all of today’s 70 score cards and may end up naming those who knocked over the teeny blob of a target which was the free stander on Lane 2 [see post 4 below]. Did they outnumber those who had the ‘pleasure’ of watching their pellet sail past one of the plate’s edges [oh yes 3.5:1]
Highlight of the day for me was to see Primary Class entrant young Wes pick up a third Gold and third Team place for Mile Oak .

Very pleased to say that the impact of Round 2s DQ and points deductions resulted in ZERO score card errors today. Simmmo tried his best to smile when he completed his rigorous check, but Charles and I could sense his frustration Well done; keep it up!
Please let me know a.s.a.p. if you spy anything you think is amiss. Have I misspelt any names? Have I put you in the wrong class? Let me know if you spot anything wrong. BBS PM or email should do the trick.
Prize drawer winners today were:
- Dave Rushman – the £35 cash prize,
- Nigel Wood – the Air Arms goody bag
More shuffling among the Teams today, with Buxted catching Meon to hold joint first place in the points table. Total team member scores and cumulative points won are :
Club Round 3 Points Buxted 283 33 Oaks 276 32 Meon Valley 272 33 Horsham 272 28 Ford 261 21 Swallows 261 20 Iden Fern 258 22 Maldon 245 22
Both MAD (with 2 present) and Swallows FTC and Ford (each with 4) had to rely on assistance from our rule which allows up to 3 cards drawn at random – from those NOT in their own club’s team – for the shortfall of numbers.
Happy and safe shooting to you all ahead of round 4 of the 2017 SIHFT, which is in two weeks’ time on the 11th June at Mile Oak.
Hope to see a bunch of you tomorrow (Monday 29th) at Mile Oaks for the Cancervive charity pairs competition and more again next Saturday at Buxted’s Open and Sunday for the Bowman Classic at Meon.

Thank you Horsham for a hugely enjoyable day's shooting and a big thank you to Miss & Mrs P for looking after us.
After going on a run of positionials between pegs 21 and 30 it dawned on Richard and I that something nasty was going to present itself in the field, it is fair to say we wern't disapointed with what we found Nice!
See you all tomorrow.

Who knocked the Free Stander over?
Stewart Elstone
Chris Tyhurst
Abi Maw
and, yes ....
Primary Class entrant Wes Micklethwaite
Very well done you four
Who caught a doughnut?
Far too many to list. 14 to be precise.
Meaning that 52 of us managed to chip a bit of yellow paint from the plate ...... and breath a sigh of relief.
Me? Sooooo nearly joined the special group of 4. Watched the pellet hit 1 pellet diameter outside the edge of the kill at 3 o'clock. Must have been an extra strong gust of wind. Doh!
