Cambridge summer safari 11/06/17 to UKAHFT Rules
Posted by Dr_C elsewhere
A lovely day: warm, occasional cloud, and a breeze strong enough to push you off the plate for the long ones. 30 pegs, shot to UKAHFT rules, targets carefully unwrapped from their protective covers the night before. I count myself lucky to have experienced the start of a new day; the dawn chorus, the light airs rustling the wheat, the hare that greeted me as I went to the portaloo. Rex's deep booming snore.
Luckily Becky turned up to reinvigorate us with bacon and surliness.
I didn't shoot my best today, not sure why. The reticle seemed to wobble all over the kill, making accurate shot placement trickier than normal. That's my excuse. I did manage to wake up for the last ten pegs, but by then my chance at glory had been squandered.

Neil "The machine" Wakelin took the top spot after a shoot off, which I didn't watch as I was falling asleep in my chair. Stuart Deeks managed a third in recoiling, despite looking even more disheveled than usual.
Jake Day's run of bad form finally ended. After being beaten by Ralph at Lea valley, and Stuart Smart on Saturday, he finally managed to scrape one point ahead of Rex and total humiliation.
Jo cogger won all the money.
I'd like to thank Matt and Wayne for an awesome weekend, I'm already looking forward to next year. But no more giraffes please.
