He may need an extra bit of material sewn into his Superhero costume. A bog brush being his specialist weapon (until he sells it)

    Good thinking, John.

I don't think he's desperate for a quick sale so, when the Bash Sales Thread is opened, I could stick it on there first. Then, if there are no takers, take it down and place it on the table.

Did you manage to get the pellet testing with the SR done the other week?

Pleased you got a plinky sesh in Tone Must try harder on those standing shots. Very satisfying groupings there too matey. That little Alladins Cave of a gun shop sounds cool ? I googled it but they don't have a website, only a Facebook account it seems and I don't do FB.

Yep, when I searched the other night I saw that they didn't have a website.

I very much got the feeling that, business wise, the gun shop was very much secondary to the car sales side of things, though they both seemed like genuine enthusiasts.

I'd like to have a good rummage around the old man's Boinger collection!

    Oops.....nearly sounded rude, did that!

I would have thought that a nice HW moddy would go pretty quickly !

Yes, I had fun with the .22 SR Tony !
It's liking JSB Exact Jumbos in preference to AA DF's, Crossie Prems (boxed) Superdomes, Eley Wasp and a few others. I think I mentioned it on another thread but it seems to prefer pellets with a larger diameter so I'm going to put some F&TT's 5.53 and maybe 5.54 if I can get them ?
It's a fabulous air rifle though and I wouldn't mind another in .177 if I could find a "Kack-Hand" version that is !

    Excellent, John.

Re the "larger" FTTs, though, I wonder if the stated sizes actually mean that much thinking back to Brian's findings (and your experience when you visited)???????

Re the .177, all things come to those who wait.

No they probably won't Tony, I too remember spending a considerable amount of time at Brian's range sizing .177 pellet brands.
The 5.53/4 prefix is only an indication of what the actual diameter will be but I need to try them in any case !

Just reading the article penned (crayoned?) by our very own tinbum. Good read but who owns the tool kit in the main photo. Can't be Nick, not enough hammers

    Cheers Tony.

I will try my best to enjoy my holiday, will be the first one with the dog tagging along. If all else fails I can go off for lots of long walks on my own with the mutt to get some peace and quiet

My google calendar has recurring appointments for all four. I should be able to work things so I am not away for at least 2 or 3 a year now.

Yep, signed up, booked time off from work, looking forward to it.

I thought I was being clever booking my holiday starting a week after Nomads. Next year it will have to be before nomads so I can do both Nomads and the Bash in August.
    Cheers

    No worries, Pete.

Yep, long walks with the doggy away from the family; sounds lovely.

Or maybe you could head West for a day. She'll never notice and no need to bring any guns, there'll be loads to play with at The Hollow!

Will that fit on the end of my HW99? And will it actually make it any quieter

    Hi David,

In your rifle's current guise, no it won't. It has a 1/2" UNF female thread, so the barrel would need screw cutting. Now, if you end up buying one of them there namby pamby pffft guns, most of those will have the screw cut barrels, so it'll fit.

Much of the "noise" you get with a springer is mechanical noise. Especially when shooting it and various parts of your good self are in contact with the gun. Always a good idea to let someone shoot your gun whilst you stand a few feet away and listen to get an idea how "noisy" it really is. If the twang (if present) did start to bug you, the de-twang is routine and straightforward.

But, it must be said, nicely tuned, de-twanged and silenced = very quiet.
