Not much boinginess from me at the moment, I'm afraid, boys.

You see, we have a daughter called Frankie, aged 14. She has had a few health problems for a few years, mainly bone pains, and was in a wheelchair for about three years up to this Spring. She seemed to be getting better, but had put on a fair bit of weight whilst she wasn't very active. By early Spring, she was out of the wheelchair, much more active and seemingly getting there.

But then we had noticed that the weight loss seemed to be carrying on far too drastically. And this weight loss highlighted the fact that her abdomen seemed very large. The wife's been trying to get the doctors to take it seriously for ages, but her pleas seemed to fall on deaf ears until, a few weeks ago, one of the GPs seemed to take more note, ordered blood tests and an ultrasound scan. Bloods seemed okay. But the ultrasounds was conducted yesterday and revealed a huge lump in her abdomen.

We were called back to the doctor, who said it was serious and that a CT scan would be required. My wife was chasing this this morning, hitting brick walls until she insisted.......end result, CT scan conducted. And then the Paedatric people from Sheffield Children's Hospital rang back (who she had been under previously) and said we were to go in straight away to the bloods and cancer unit.

I've just got back....Frankie and Sarah are to stay. She has a large tumour in her abdomen. But they want to conduct their own ultrasound and MRI tomorrow morning and then decide what route is to be followed.

Feeling a bit cut up right now boys and trying to type this through floods of tears; bear with me. Frankie seems quite happy. I don't know if she's just putting a brave face on things. Or, as she's been through so much already is just thinking, "here we go again". I really can't believe how strong she is being right now.

Pray for us boys, I think we have a battle on our hands.

I have just found out about your Frankie on Facebook my friend. I am absolutely devastated for you. It sounds as though you have one very brave little girl who is a fighter and can still keep a smile on her face through thick and thin. Be strong for her and the rest of your loved ones. We are hoping and praying for the best.

We arrived in Sheffield yesterday so if you need anything at all just ask. I tried to pm you but your private message quota has been exceeded obviously by all the wellwishers. Pm me if you can. We will be there for you.
