Looks a bit like the old Wool Mills my Gran took me to visit in Yorkshire when I was a kid.
Maybe without the noise.
The Girls used shouting and sign language to chat.
The big steam engine was amazing.
Found some rare pictures taken inside the BSA gun factory, around 1907. They give a vivid view of some of the conditions inside the factory with all the machines being belt powered from overhead shafts, and minimal guards around the crowded machinery. Todays health and safety guys would have a major breakdown seeing these . Still this is the very environment where our much loved early BSA's were made.

More than anything it looks dangerous! Modern elf & safety officers would be having heart attacks.

Just noticed Andy made the same point...
There's some interesting videos of the old BSA (motorbike) factory on YouTube, including this 4-part series. Includes air rifle shooting at the works sports day!

Heartbreaking to watch Britain's industrial heritage as it was, knowing what we do. I suppose it makes the air rifle products of the factory, especially before WW1 and between the wars, all the more precious.
