How do I fit a sling swivel stud to the fore end of my super10 carbine. The wood is too thin just to use a standard stud

How do I fit a sling swivel stud to the fore end of my super10 carbine. The wood is too thin just to use a standard stud

There are studs available with a nut instead of a woodscrew fitting, if you use one of these I suggest using as large a washer as you can to spread the load.
