You certainly won't be reading about it on the North Yorks Police website.

Presumably that decision has come from the police who were investigating the matter, and as such would appear to show/set legal precedent

I can't see this ending well.

I wish it would, but for all sorts of reasons it won't. I can see the front page picture of a grim faced copper holding one and the BAN THESE WEAPONS OF DEATH headline already.

    If it's true, maybe.

The HO Guide to Firearms Licensing is published each year, so we'll see.
I'm certainly not going to go by Mr Preston's Internet posts.

    We'll see what ??

If it has been legally established that the action is self indexing & therefore legal, rather than self loading which would be illegal then that's that.

Not that I can see any point to it myself.

I'm not disappointed, Mr Snap. I'm up for clarity and standardisation of our overly-arcane gun laws. God knows we need it!
I don't yet see a robust, centralised statement that we can refer to.

    Until then....

He would be very foolish to have put that statement up if it's untrue.

If that's the case we'll quickly see more reports corroborate the story.
