Leapers scope around 16x any good

Hi I have a second hand leapers 3-9xtrue mikdot scope with no parallel adjustment or ir. Its got excellent glass so I am considering up grading to one with up to 16x mag with side focus and ir and 1 inch tube. Question is are the latest leapers any good.

I've got 4 of them 4-16x44, for the money they have good glass and are very ruggedly built and hold zero very well.
On the downside the reticles are mildot not half mildot, that's the wire ones anyway which are quite thick.
I have an etched glass one on order, which should be finer, though whether it's worth the extra £40 or so, I'll have to wait and see.

All of mine have 30mm tubes.
