Looking for a Vintage Air Gun Whisperer!

    Hi All,

I noted a thread on hear recently where a chap was after someone to service his recent acquisition of a BSA Light Pattern and forum members pointed him in the right direction.

In like fashion I was wondering if anyone knows of a good gunsmith who can ‘whisper’ to vintage pistols and rifles. Indeed perhaps such individuals frequent this forum!

I’ve a couple items in my collection that need a few jobs done on them – nothing major, mainly just servicing/replacing of washers/the odd missing pin that needs manufacturing. However, they are beyond my basic skills (even if I had the time) and beyond the basic tools etc that I have.

I’m after someone who either has a shop/premises in the North West where I could take items or perhaps a private gunsmith to whom I could send items?

    All help appreciated.

    Cheers
    Olly

Personally I recommend Dave Mercer (DM80 on here) who is based in Farnworth, near Bolton. He has done a lot of work for me and many of our gun club members.
