Silly me, I was conflating the 'survival' version with the 'wildlife' version... Yuck.

That is the oddest! May win in multiple categories: ugliest, most useless?

Aaargh, not another pic of this monstrosity, John. One was quite enough. A Webley Mk2 Service it ain't.

(Cue the 'there's always one' in the crowd who'll say "Actually, I quite like it, its clean lines and simple design appeals to me". )

I've just noticed the price on this gun. £174 Not sure quite when it was but it sounds like an awful lot!

You've found a breeding colony of them?

I feel sorry for it. Such a sad attempt, a real 'moon-calf' that never should have left the pencil, never mind the design board. A Bauhaus clamshell nightmare that ignored its precedents like the delightful Gamo Paratrooper. Is the cheekpiece adjustable or do you need to have a jaw extension?

It's like a BSA Buccaneer designed by a sentient ZX81 for sexual purposes.

I wonder if it can be tuned to 11 fpe and used in HFT?

Maybe I should have refined this topic to the oddest gun made that you would still be willing to take out in public. Rutten may win that one?

I think the Winstar is a bit of a looker- The Wildlife and the Baikal Drozd are butt ugly!! The Drozd does have a strange trigger system too, It's electronic!!

In reality there's many fore fugly guns than the Rutten, They just don't make the same weird noises!!

It's not hard to make a ugly gun? But the Airstar is almost the "Rube Goldberg" of air rifles, the crazy sounds being part of that. It was a absolute failure, as many said how hard is it to cock a springer, let alone put up with the whining of motors and grinding of gears, etc. But just as "Rube Goldberg" machines still performed their tasks so does the Airstar and with superb quality. Lol. It makes me want to want to go to some of the informal shooting events in my area and push a button and watch the reaction.
