    I want a "special" PCP

All my guns are .22 and self contained, but the wife has the Steyr H5 which is nice, but .177

I have been working on a Sumatra 500 underlever, gay-cowboy gun and its made me realise I want a fun pcp.

Ideally it would be a .22, carbine and underlever, something like the Sumatra, Career or PH Phoenix mk2. Trouble is they are few and far between, so I am broadening my horizons.

Please bear in mind I've had many PCP's in the past and this one is just for fun and frivolity! Fast fire, rat-a-tat-tat kind of thing!

I have a Parker Hale Phoenix mk1 (full length) in.22 and PAX mk2 carbine in .177 and I love mine. The mk2 is much improved, and the cycling is so slick compared to the mk1.

I also think they are amongst the most attractive rifles to look at, but everyone has different tastes on that front. You can rattle off a magazine full very quickly should you so wish. The mk2 is my favourite rifle in my collection.

    A fully sorted Pheonix Fast-Fire?

Better than my Skan, as John Snooper once demonstrated to me.

It's all in the wrist action!

Didn't Gwyn have a fast fire? If so, I enjoyed firing that at the bash. If not, I may have been hallucinating after some Cleary juice!

You weren't hallucinating Mark, well remembered! Its been in the rack idle for for some months; but I hope to visit Cornwall shortly, so I can offer Nick a play.

I think there's a very pretty lever action PCP rifle, based on an updated Parker Hale design which I'd like to try.

I think it'd be hard to beat one of the Korean carbines.

Not lever action, but how about the "Hunting Master" revolver, or a Skan?

    Tinbum,

I tried to PM you but I can't see the PM tab on your profile?. I may be selling my sumatra carbine (.20) in the next few weeks. It has a spare set of wood with it to preserve the "best set"
PM me if you're interested buddy.

I wouldn't say rare, they are still made and sold by Pax guns in London http://www.paxguns.co.uk/products.htm

As is the Phoenix which basically has the same action. Admittidly don't come up second hand much.

You have to be pretty "special" to want a pfffttt-gun in the first place...
