Looking for opinions on stripping and rebuilding a springer

anyone ever thought of having the metalwork silvered rather than blued. i had one done and chroming was cheaper than bluing. i had to do the prep myself though.

I have considered nickel plating, I believe if the metal is shot blasted before plating it is possible to get an attractive satin finish.
