    38-55 storage boxes

    Hello all,

Which storage boxes are people using for their loaded 38-55 rounds?

I bought an MTM RS-S-50 to store my new batch of brass as the chart on the MTM website lists this box as being compatible with the calibre.

The 38-55 brass is the longer 2.125 rather than the short 2.05.

The box doesn't close! The COL of the rounds appears to be too long, even though the bullet I am using is a pretty standard Shellhouse 245grn RNFP which is quite short.

    Thanks

    Andy

Have you tried the .45-70 box?

it says on the MTM chart that the RMLD-50 and the H50-R-MAG will fit both bullet tip up or down.
    hope this helps.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

The Max OAL of a RSS-50 of 2.5", SAAMI specs for short cases is 2.47 to 2.51 so in reality it shouldn't be listed as compatible... add into the mix the longer brass and there is no chance of them fitting!
