So...bit the bullet and had my first go at barrel straightening. Used a couple of oask blocks and a steel G clamp from Screwfix. Took some significant pressure but after a couple of goes managed to get it looking straight to the eye. Checked with a straight edge and looked ok. Reassembled rifle and couldn't believe it. Exactly spot on for elevation! Beginner's luck I guess?! A couple of MOA left for windage and done.

Many thanks to all who contributed and have helped me out. It is much appreciated. Now have a working rifle...albeit with a rather heavy scope! ;-)

well ... there you go! Well done.
No doubt it will be a 'piece of cake' next time ... if there is one.

    Cheers, Phil

Thanks Phil. More fluke I reckon but wouldn't have had a clue without you guys helping out. Much appreciated mate. Regards Paul :-)
