With 170gn jacketed, Lyman manual shows 25gns of 3031 producing 1512 fps....I shoot 170gn cast lead in Winchester 1894, 32/40. 14gns of Vit N110 . Anything for cast in 30/30 will probably suffice, same case capacity. However since you are shooting an antique, do not push it. Light loads would include Red Dot, Green Dot, Unique powders...7-8 gns. I use cast sized at .323, gas check and lube. Lyman M die to open the neck for seating. I assume you have remodelled 30/30 cases since 32/40 cases are just about unobtainable. I also found 16gns of N120 very accurate in 32/40 .
