    Information for S&W 80G CO2 rifle.

Hello, the seal for the 12gm. caplet has crumbled away. It is a light brown but I can no longer tell how hard or soft it should be. Could anyone please tell me what it should be made of, please, so I can try to make a new one. I would be prepared to buy a new valve assembly.
Information on any spares would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much.
    Cheers.
    Geoff.

Polyurethane is ideal for the replacement. Old polyurethane seals used years ago sometimes degrade through bacteria. Think this seal is just a disc with a hole in it, I can post you a piece of flat polyurethane to punch one out.

Pardon my ignorance but what is a Crosman cart seal? Where could I get one to try please, I have a number of Crosman's so information on any spares supplier would be useful.

Geoff, a lot of CO2 guns use a seal for the end of the CO2 gas cartridge. See the attached pic below.. some others use a sealed gas chamber that uses an O ring.
You may be able to use a standard Umarex cartridge seal as seen in orange in the pic.

Thank you for the information, am having a think. Tried a few things, tap washer, stick on plastic cabinet feet!!
I can not put up a picture as the seal has literally broken up into small crumbs of light brown ????
It is difficult because there is not enough to even guess at a pattern.
I will come back in a bit after further thinks.
    Cheers all.

    Crosman 22xx Seal

As ped says - a common Crosman 22xx series cart seal - from any online supplier - if oversize to your S&W simply reduce the diameter down on sandpaper to make it fit .

The Crosman seal will be too small as the S&W one is over 13 mm in diameter identical to the clear one shown in the pic I posted on this thread. I asked the OP if the seal has a screw in retaining ring as he may be able to use the common orange coloured Umarex doughnut shaped one used in their pistols as it is only a tiny bit smaller in diameter (PW056 at Chambers). When held in place the capsule neck should seal OK.

so it uses the flying saucer seal from a 1077 and a few other older crosmans and was the reason I asked if it was self piercing or you shot it to pierce the cart
