Thanks Nick but I'm edging towards the little Simmons.

To be far John I think you'll have to spend a far bit to get anything noticeably better

Finally managed to get hold of a nice WTC 1.5-5x20 !
I'll get it mounted on the 50 and have it down to the range pellet testing next week !
    Can't wait !

    Blackrider,

For me, the Simmons 1.5-5x20 is a superb scope - a true 'classic'

A small scope that has recently surprised me (in a very good way !), was the Hawke Vantage 4x32 AO.

It has proven itself to be very good indeed, and has mil-dots to use as aiming references.

IIRC, I paid around £50 for it - I got it to see if it was any good, and as I said, I am very happy with it.

Have fun & a good Bank Holiday

    Best regards

    Russ

Finally managed to get down to the range this week and tried a selection of .177 pellets through the air rifle.

Without boring you all too much after almost two hours of pellet testing the JSB Exact Express 4.52 emerged as the most favorable down to grouping at 25m.
I'm also pleased at the Simmons WTC 1.5-5x20 "marriage" and as the whole combo is so light, it was a pleasure to shoot !

Sabre Optics 2-7x32AO, available from our sponsor, but not for much longer I expect. The word is out.

Cheap, sturdy and bright. Just as good as the Tasco airgun equivalent I once had.

Or do you want to put a Leupold on a HW50s?

Other than the Sabre 2-7 or 4x32 I'd big up the Vantage 4x32. Very crisp image.
