Hi.
Sorry, I'm quite new to paper target shooting. Can I just check that I've been scoring my cards correctly?
I've been scoring them by saying that if a shot straddles the line between two scores I've been scoring it as where the largest proportion of the hole falls, and scoring up if it straddles the line equally (ie, if a pellet is slightly more 7 than 8 score it 7. If it's bang on the centre of the line score it 8).
However I've just been reading a book on target shooting that says if a pellet cuts or even touches a line with it's inner edge you score up to the higher score.
How should I be scoring my mpl cards?
Thanks.
Neil.

Hi Neil
Inner edge scoring is used at 10m and 6yd air rifle and pistol shooting for NSRA and ISSF, if the hole cuts or touches the line, then the higher scored is counted.

Bugger, thanks.
Can I re-submit my July & August scores??

I'm sure you can resubmit - this is a friendly competition after all!!
I found this document from the Greater Boston Pistol League very useful - it's US NRA based but the same principles apply to NSRA/ISSF scoring as far as I'm aware.

Note Avast Anti Virus does not like this for some reason but I have downloaded it without any problems - it's a PDF file.

Thanks Paul.
That makes it clearer. Apart from plinking my only real previous experience of target shooting is some bell target which is scored quite differently.
