    Cheers for the info all.
I had a .25" Hatsan for a while but in the end I couldn't live with the poor trigger. Bigging up my HW80 to the quarter inch calibre is very appealing!

I'm a complete novice so I may have misunderstood but I thought that the few bits I'd read suggested .25 springers in sub 12ft lbs would be poor performers which was disappointing to hear as quite fancied one. I can't wait to see how this turns out, especially so as its based on the HW80

I think some people don't like the loopier trajectory of the heavier pellets but if you don't try to shoot at too long range it doesn't matter. And these days with a range finder and Christmas tree scope Ret the pellet drop can be accounted for at longer ranges anyway.

yes that was pretty much it. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out and what the 'real world' as opposed to arm chair performance will be.

Point blank, ie +/- 1/2" from crosshairs can be from 15-28 yards if set up right with a lighter pellet.
We used to have a smallholding with chickens, where you get chickens you get rats. Where you get rats between 15-28 yards a .25 is the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

Ran a .25 80 for a while. Couldn’t be beat at farmyard ranges. After 28ish yards, the drop was measured in inches 😐

Shot cycle was quite nice & it needed very minimal preload (28 coils if my memory serves)

I have only been trying the new internals on the donor rifle (.22) and on the chrono.

The only reason for this is someone said on here that .22 is more efficient than .25 in a springer.

So I want to see how much power I loose/gain with just the barrel swop.

I have an identical .177 barrel as well I might try that as well just for curiosity.

I might buy a .20 barrel and do all 4.
