The barrel's not wobbly, is it?

Is your potential new one a quarter bore too?
Evening Tony, yes it did thanks.
The 77 is a tack driver, or should that be pile driver? But, the bsa? Everything is great, but the bore is really loose, the aa Diablo's almost fall in! Hence I believe the crap grouping.

Are all pellet types a loose fit, Jamie?

If all else fails, you might have to do as Pete previously suggested and give 'em a bloody good whack with a lump hammer!

And if that fails, take said implement to the gun!

I've just been testing AA diablo Field .22 in my Theoben Evolution for the first time. It loves them which is great as its a seriously choosey rifle when it comes to pellets. It always amazes me how each weapon is so different. I've tried around 7 different pellets in my new HW77.22 and its not fussy at all. The BSA sounds like a fussy beast to me!!!

I shall bring around my very near gauge and a lump hammer when I bring this (fully functional) HW99 back.

Had a great afternoon with my Paul Short 97. I put my BBQ/shooting bench at 63 yards from teh zero target and set about giving it some real hammer. Wonderful! The gun is superb. I let Paul have it back a couple of months ago so he could make one of his rear guides that is inset into the trigger block and I asked him to pop on a red australian seal which he had the gun apart. This rifle really is the real deal now. Shoots superb and the shot cycle is absolutely lovely.
At 63 yards I was hitting with consistency the 15mm spinner that sits above my zero target!!

Cant believe I have to wait until April to cause the bucket some pain....
