Good thinking there, Mr Tinny Man

One of the very first airguns I ever cast eyes on was a Premier belonging to one of the local oiks on the canal bank. Liked the looks of them ever since.

But.....doubtful whether I'd find a mint, unmolested one in time for the festive period. The timeless appeal, er, appeals, but I'd want a known good one.

I do have a Brummy Tempest and I'd half considered one of the new ones, but not really quite the same, in'it?

A springer would be the ideal. I'd love the big Diana break barrel, but that'd be over budget. And my DREAM pistol would be a FWB 65.

I'd also considered the little Gamo break barrel. Is it the P900 or summat? Plastic breech housing a bit off-putting, though. Did Rhys get one for his lad at one of the Bashes?

Anyone else any experience of them?

I have a very early Premier, blued steel like the Senior but with a better trigger. It is possibly 85% the size of my Tempest, but 120% times the weight. Imagine that, go on, just imagine it..

I reckon get the pistol matey, it's something you don't currently own and lends itself to both indoor and out- door shooting. Yes, a HW40 in .22 would sit nicely next to your .177 version but it won't be that much different. And....... there is always your Birthday
I think you're most possibly right, Pauly, and my thoughts do keep coming back to the Vigilante. Cheap and funky and supposedly quite accurate and totally different to anything else I have.

Take your point on the HW40. I've been thinking the same, but I do love them.

My RFD has a mint second hand FWB 65 Tone, I even considered it myself but... £325 for a pistol is a bit stiff

Yep, you're correct-ish there, Nick. And this BoingerNut would certainly prefer a boingery one. But, although not self-contained and recoilless, I'm guessing that it would have a little character due to its funky looks and fast-fire capability. And a pocket full of capsules would keep it shooting all day.

You can't have too many and its like I've explained my my better half its all their little differences that make them unique to us and the reason we need a collection.
Yep, seriously love the '40. About three years ago at a club I used to to to, at my first attempt, that little '40 acquitted itself really well against many much more experienced pistol men with expensive tackle on the 10m range. One of them looked quite pissy!

I'm imagining giving it a right good old fondling, Nick.

    Is it a good one?

    Are you selling it?

    Is it cheap?

I was getting a little stiff too there, Pauly.

    Until I saw the price!

I really don't think MrsL would stretch to that.

    Excellent stuff, Neil.

Here you go Tone and if you have a stiffy and require your right hand this one will be perfect as it's cack handed

This is my thinking too, Mike, as most of my Plinky time is at home at short range. So the challenge and lower power appeal.

Space wise, much easier to find a home for a pistol and it'll also help to redress the rifles vs pistols imbalance - currently something like 30+ vs 7 or 8 (I think).

Ooh, that looks beautiful does that, Pauly.

One of the even rarer versions with "reciprocating pistons", mind!

Theres a rifle and pistol club near me which I wouldn't mind checking out at some point. I can get 8 yards indoors which is fun on those crappy weather evenings, or shooting from in the hallway out to the rear wall of the garden I can just about get 26 yards so better than nowt.

30 rifles???? Blimey I don't know if i'd have room for that lot lol. Although saying that I popped into CH Weston to have a look at the 98 again this week and there was a rather beautiful used 1 year old immaculate AA S510 in Walnut. Somehow I ended up walking out with it. There is now a padlock on the wallet and looking for a therapist that can help reduce inner temptation when browsing these shops
