Maybe shims missing as there are none there ??
Yep, it's not something that's ever bothered me matey, but some nice little Delrin shims would be the way to go (and a few have done so before).

Oh so it's 'usual' then ? Just 80's is it ?, none of my others do it. As long as it's not a 'problem' to be concerned about, I will happily leave it why just HW80's though, unless there's others

Not unusual for springers to rattle a bit in the cocking linkage, I've had various AA & HW do it.

Nothing to worry about; advisable to keep all bearing points, pins, rivets, bolts, cocking shoes, cocking levers, piston slots, etc. well greased or oiled as necessary to minimise wear, which may be a contributary factor, along with production tolerances, etc.

Thanks for that Ted I know the chap who owned it before me had it kept very well and wondered if a couple of shim washers may have been overlooked on reassembly, you know.... those bits leftover that you wonder where they came from
