And now for something completely different

I like different. It's not always good, in fact the reason it's not common can often be that it's a bit pants! But it is, and always will be, different!

I have been trawling the more obscure air gun outlets around the world looking for something unusual. I have found various air pistols with amazing power levels, outlandish looks and obscene prices. These have now been ditched in favour of a little rifle that caught my eye. It's small, single shot and precharged. Available in calibres up to .45 and powers up to 170 ft/lb!

Discretion being the better part of valour, I have opted for 12 ft/lb and .22

I can find few reviews, and all of these, not suprisingly, are from the stateside. I would be very interested if any members on here have one.

Oh, yeah, the gun is an Evanix Rex.

When you say you've "opted for 12ft lb in .22..." Does that mean you actually have one or is that what you're looking for ? I just googled it and I like it

I'm ordering one next week. I could theoretically get any cal or power as I'm in France at the mo, but I do want to bring it back to use and probably write a magazine article on it, so it will be .22 and sub 12.

Had to Google that and it does look interesting. If I squint at the pictures it looks like an SMK PP700 and a stealth "made sweet music together" and had offspring
I will be very interested to hear how you get on. Manufacturers like evanix and hatsan are not afraid to buck convention when it comes to designing models. Whilst I like blued steel and brown wood I also like something different too, and that as you observe is different.
    Have fun.

Why do you have a French licence?

Your still limited to 20 Joules if you don't.

I don't suppose you happened to see any of those Diana 34 120th centenary edition rifles I've been banging on about for the past few years whilst perusing said outlets???

    Pete
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

I'm suffering from springer ennui at the moment, hence my hankering for a pcp.

Don't worry I'm feeling the same with all things airgun at the moment but still want to see one of those Diana's in my gun cupboard collecting dust, the only PCP I'd ever want is a RWS Excalibre/Rapier, which I actually had once and swapped for a Daystate X2 as I was too scared to take it out hunting as it was so beautiful.

Don't fret pet! Buying them, not shooting them!

I either own, or have owned all the current and recent springers, so there's nothing left to lust after, I also have rammers, multipumps and SSP rifles.

I only own one PCP for myself (the Steyr H5 is Karens), so that's where I look when I want something different. The Rex KT looks like a storm troopers gun. How cool is that?!
