    You still don't fancy one?

Everybody should own a Gold 35E at least once.

If they had ceased production in 1937 then maybe there would be a case for that, they didn't. They are still making it. In short it is shit. Properly shit. It looks shit, handles like shit and, well. Its just shit.

I can't stresss enough how much of a waste of money this is unless you are really after a collectible from the past.

I could never in good conscience recommend it to anyone I had any respect or affection for. There is a special page for owners, enjoy!

    Just my opinion of course.
So, when Uncle Mick and I "encouraged" you to have a go with one of his (this year's April Bash) that had been lightly tickled (5mm longer stroke and 'O' ring head if I remember correctly), I seem to recall that you were most impressed with it, especially the firing cycle.

And I think you had to concede that, yes, they can shoot beautifully, just that you don't particularly like them personally? So, not making it a bad rifle, just personal opinion.

I'd be more than happy to recommend one to anyone.

My thoughts run with those of Tinbum on the 35.
It must be the clickety clack that attracts owners or maybe the thrill seekers are always on the edge wondering whether it will gall or not.
The barrel lock up is great, you always need a complication when loading the simplest of designs. Even better for the left handed shooter.
If only they could design it with an iffy cylinder plug that may leak then it would be design perfection.

I think its a rifle that's best with the long export barrel and a good 8" of silencer added to stop muzzle flip

Now that's a cracker and a tempting alternative to this old girl getting a blued.

It's actually quite easy to do at home. The first step is in the preparation. You will need a plastic tub (with lid) large enough to put the barrel and action in and enough sulphuric acid to just cover it.
Drill a couple of holes in the lid for gasses to escape and place the tub in a well ventilated area and leave it for six months.

We'll go onto the next stage when that's done.

Well Tinners old thing, I've racked my beleaguered brain to think of someone who stands a realistic chance of being more wrong than your good self, but I'm afraid this person just doesn't exist. Gerald Ratner, the chap who gave away The Beatles, Michael Fish the night before the great storm of '87, and everyone who uses 'of' instead of 'have' were candidates for a while, but the fact is, you're in a class of your own, mate. You are officially the wrongest person on this, or any, planet.

    Erm ... FACT!

It's fascinating how much time some people spend trying to make their very personal opinions look like universal truth ... how about live and let live for a change?
