Can't help you with personal experience, but popularity is often a good indicator of a gun's worth.
Lots of shooters at the range I go to have the HFT500. I can't remember the last time I saw somebody shooting a Goldstar.
I know it's been done before but I'm looking for some new opinions.
I'm due to handle both guns tomorrow so will have an idea of fit and I've got a viper connect waiting to go on top so, hft500 or Goldstar se?

I wish I was in the land of cotton.
HFT 500 is the better gun of the two IMHO. Goldstar is also too light for me. It has no weight upfront to stablise the barrel and also poor shot count due to the small cylinder. with the HFT 500 once filled to about 165 bar you'd get a good 80 shots before the POI changes sufficiently that you'd need to compensate.

HFT500 all the way IMO.
I bought one after looking into it or the Goldstar and don't regret it.
Thanks, I'm leaning towards the hft500 anyway but like the idea of the reg in the g/s.
I think my mind will be made up once I've handled them both.
Strange as it may seem I have both and both topped with vortex vipers......
The 500 is now in a CZ adjustable stock with my own walnut and regged with a Rob Lane, the Goldstar se has a Huma reg and modded hamster to...with silenced shroud.
Both rifles shoot really well and both very accurate, as stated the goldie is slightly lighter, but to be honest I'm not sure which to shoot.
I will say the 500 is a noisey bugger tho....
Air Arms HFT 500.... Vortex Viper 2.5-10x32
I like the shortness of the Goldstar SE and find it is heavy enough in the black pepper laminate stock.
Reg means no worries. You get a matching palm shelf with it too.
Just buy a HW 100 Laminate, better than either of the others
To be honest , I never thought that I would buy an Ftp900 . One come up cheap
I bought it ! Very impressed so far 😎

Give me a regged gun every time. If you bought a HFT500 for HFT you would have to buy a hamster and pay for a reg.
Someone said house work wont kill you, but I say 'why take that chance'

Having owned both I would not have another 500. When it developed a fault I had cause to strip it and what I found was shocking.pot split, grub screw missing and transfer seal blown out. The goldstar is a consistently accurate rifle and for me has a better more ergonomic pistol grip than the 500.
