    80K barrel on a 99

I like it, but it was a bit of a pain in the bum to do. The 80 barrel block is a bit longer (4mm) between the main pivot and the linkage. So the linkage has to be 4mm longer. The front linkage was easier to make than the fancy rear link so a new longer one was made. This had to be made thinner than the 99 link to fit the 80 block. The linkage fouled the nut that holds the stock on and the stock itself so I ground out the fouling part of them. Then I would cock. I also put in 80 shims, which were slightly larger.

The balance with the 80K barrel and silencer is great. It looks good to with the chunkier barrel. I doubt
HW will ever offer this as an option due to the changes to the basic gun needed.

It sounds amazing but I have to ask why ?

Or is it one of those "because it was there " type of challenges.

Bit like me and my vulcan .

Because I wanted a shorter threaded barrel but didn't want to mess up the balance. A chop and thread job on the existing barrel would have been easier.
